Somebody’s Two!

No, it’s not me. While I might act like it sometimes I passed that milestone a long long time ago.
It’s my bubby boy! He turned 2 on Monday.
We kept it very (very) low key. We took the kids to McDonalds for lunch. Can you believe that they have never played at the play place? They each got a happy meal (another first). Then it was home for a much needed nap. And the holigans were tired too.
Later we went to a park and just played around, had pizza for dinner and opened presents. Which is like the REASON anyone comes to Earth right? FOR THE PRESENTS!! Wahoo!

This one was the hit of the night

Russell Family - Late Happy Birthday to Caleb!!

Really beautiful pics, RL!!!

Lindsay - I love the park pictures–especially the ones of Caleb in the swing.

Bekah Pyne - definitely not a bad thing for it to be their first happy meal! It looks and sounds like it was a fantastic b-day for him!

H Family: And How They Survived Me

I was able to do a shoot for the H family and they put up with me pretty well I think. They were awesome and I really hope they enjoy this little taste test of their pictures.
Hubby H is leaving in a few weeks (on his way to Iraq) and they wanted to get some family photos done before he deployed. Is that the right word? I don’t know my military jargon. Little H was too cute and adorable.

Bekah Pyne - you have taken some awesome pics Rebecca! I'm glad it looks like you are keeping busy!!!

Impromptu Shoot With A Little Darling

Okay, I know that she’s MY little darling but whatever. She has been getting so big so fast that she started to transition into another size up, to 5T. And I found myself yelling, “BUT SHE HASN’T WORN ALL HER CUTE 4T CLOTHES YET!!” So, I decided that before we packed them all up I’d take her out and put her in the cutest clothes that I loved and that she hasn’t had a chance to wear yet.

Chelsea Ellingson - What a sweetie!! Any of these cute clothes finds from…Savers?! I saw on facebook that you visted there on their 50% off labor day sale: I also went. I just piled a ton of things in the cart and went to check out and my grand total was $50, which was more than I was anticipating to spend. I got home and it dawned on me that I would have had to spend $100 worth of things to pay $50 for it and I thought "there's no way I spent that much". I convinced myself that the lady at the counter didn't take the discount off until I finally took out the receipt. Yup. Definitely spent that much. Got some way cute things for my cutie girl, who is now in 3T clothes. :-) These are amazing. I can't believe she posed for all of these! PS how do you like lightroom?

Bekah Pyne - okay- my favs are all of them- but my really favs are the full color shot of her leaning, the bottom face shot, and the b/w chest up shot!

You are some talented woman!

Oh My Gosh! We Actually Did Somthing Worth Blogging About

Please pick yourself up off the floor now. I know it comes as a shock but it will wear off in a minute or two.
A few weekends back we traveled to the far reaches of Colorado. Where there is no Walmart, no 24 hour fast food, no 24 hour grocery store, no 24 hour anything. We trekked through the mountains, battling miles of steep roads in our horse powered vehicle with air conditioning. Such torturous conditions, I’m surprised we made it. We weathered the tumultuous sprinkling rain. And finally after what seemed like days but was really only 3 hours we arrived. Where is this barren wasteland you might ask, Fairplay.
We went and spent some quality time with Kevin’s sister, Jenny. She put up with the kids beautifully, I might add. She took us to Breckenridge, or as the local fare call it “Breck“.

The kids were able to feed the fish.

I was feeling very self-portraity that day. Self-portraity? Self-portraital? Self-portraitesq? Whatever.

I bet you didn’t know my hooligans were world class skiers. They’re so good they can ski in the off season! Look at that form!

They’re cuttin that powder up. I have no idea what I’m talking about but that sounded good.

They thoroughly enjoyed dipping their tootsies in the river.

This was the view from Jenny’s back porch.

I even had time to get some practice in. I love wild flowers. Growing without a care, this beautiful little piece of nature that just pops up out of nowhere and takes care of its self. I think that’s my favorite part of wild flowers, the self sufficient nature of them.

Kevin - I rally like your portrait in the water drop. Lydia didn't even spill her ice cream cone. I am so pleased with her.

Millie - Loving the photos as usual =) Hey, did you guys go up 285 to Fairplay? If so, you passed through Josh's old 'hood, and where we spend Christmas break at his parents house every year, Bailey. I loooove it up there. If you haven't seen it, you guys should check out Tinytown next time you take that drive, I think you'd dig it =)

The Miz - Yeah, we did pass through Bailey. You know, we tried to go to Tinytown but we couldn't find it. I bet it's really simple and we just over complicated it. Or maybe it was just too tiny.

Ashley - That looks like tons of fun! I love the pictures- I can never seem to take pictures of fish in the water.

Bekah Pyne - i really like your wildflower shots- particularly the bottom one! Also- your shots of your outing were fantabulous!!! Especially the second icecream shot of Lydia- what was she standing in front of?

Kim - Becca, Beautiful pictures you are really good at it.
Keep it up. I love to look at them. I wish you were out here to take some of my family. What would you suggest us wearing for a fall outdoor setting? Colors?

ValSterByDe - beautiful! and I love the self portrait variations:)
you definitely have an eye and talent!

Ben, Ashley, and Baby ?

Like most of the posts recently I’ve checked another first off of my list.
Child Portraits – check
Fashion Portraits – check
Family Portraits – check
Wedding – check
Maternity Portraits – check
Baby ? is Ashley and Ben’s first. They allowed me to get some good bump shots (belly bump that is).
First, here’s my disclaimer. Ashley, I do not think that you were all that big when we took these pictures. That being said, for some reason I want to name this picture “Hands around the World”.

Ben thought I was totally ridiculous for having him do this. Sorry Ben, but it is a requirement. They won’t let you have your daddy certificate until you’ve kissed the belly.

What’s Your Hue? A Valid Question, I Think.

In our front room we have vertical blinds that cover our ginormous window. My chilens are notorious for playing in them and breaking them. It is a major sore spot with me (I know they are just things but they aren’t our things so . . .).
Today, Lydia was playing in them and my blood started to boil. I proceeded to yell at her to which she calmly looked at me and said, “Mom, why is your face purple?”

Que hysterical laughing.

Kevin Aycock - At least it wasn't violet. That could have been disastrous…

Lindsay - She could have commented on the steam, right? So cute.

Ashley - Haha. I love it.

Russell Family - Sometimes it's not so great when they can talk. :) Haha.

jdphotography - Dad and I had a good laugh.

Marshelle and Brennan Part Deux

They had a cookie themed reception. I think all of the kids there might have gone a little cookie crazy.

A mother of the groom, beautiful.

Great grandmother of the bride.

This gorgeous thing kept coming up to me saying “You take my picture.” Not a question mind you, but really how could I say no?

A long receiving line, I think her cheeks hurt from all that smiling. It’s a lot of work getting married.

She was just a wee bit embarrassed. Or would mortified be the right word?

The wind up . . .

. . .and the pitch . . .

. . . it’s outa there!

McMom - Love it! Is there going to be a Part 3? Hope you got some cookies!
